Does not work well with D28402K : DEWALT DW4945 4-1/2-Inch Rubber Backing Pad with Locking Nut

The instructions don't tell you that when attaching to the Dewalt 41/2" grinder, you actually have to remove the washer assembly that you normally don't remove when using a regular grinding wheel. Easy to remove, and once done the backing pad goes on easily.
I am about to use the tool to do some aggressive sanding and paint removal on my house gable trim. I'll give you and update.

The DeWalt 29-Piece DW1969 twist drill bit assortment is a professional kit designed to deliver reliable performance across the board. Each bit larger than 1/8-inch features a patented Pilot Point Tip to prevent walking for improved accuracy and better finished products. DeWalt's patented tapered web prevents the frustration caused by broken bits, and a no-spin shank keeps the bits securely positioned, even when working with keyless chucks. As a bonus, the size markings on these bits are located above the shank, so you won't have to worry about wear making them unreadable. To help you stay organized, a useful metal index is included in this kit, along with split point bits from 1/16-inch to 1/8-inch and Pilot Point bits from 9/64-inch to 1/2-inch in 64th-inch increments..../ DEWALT DW1969 29 Piece Pilot Point Twist Drill Bit Assortment with Metal Index / Shed Kits

Drill bits get stuck in the wood : DEWALT DW1969 29 Piece Pilot Point Twist Drill Bit Assortment with Metal Index

I am a serious amateur carpenter, and a long time Dewalt tool loyalist, so I was very excited to get this set. Unfortunately, although I have a drill press, much of the work I need to do requires a cordless drill, and I have found these bits to be difficult to get good results with. As the other reviewers state, they tend to grab hold and thread themselves into the wood, particularly if you are trying to enlarge an existing hole, and there is little that can be done to stop them. The results are often a blowout on the back side, and they are so aggressive, the hole is not as clean as I would like. I have experienced blowouts even when blocking the back side, as you should with any bit. Most recently, I clamped my blocking to the piece and it blew out anyway. Frustrating.

I will say they are great in the drill press when everything is clamped down and you have better control of the rate of descent of the chuck, but otherwise, I tend to shy away from using these bits, they are just to aggressive and destructive. I wish I had tried another brand, like Milwaukee or Irwin.
